Strengthening cooperation with the Republic of Uzbekistan
A delegation fr om the Republic of Uzbekistan, headed by the Mayor of Tashkent, Shavkat Umurzakov, visited the Saint Petersburg Special Economic Zone.
The guests were received at the Novoorlovskaya site by Alexander Sitov, Chairman of the Saint Petersburg Committee for Industrial Policy, Innovation, and Trade, and Tamara Rondaleva, General Director of the SEZ. They discussed the project and the conditions under which cooperation is possible. Alexander Sitov discussed in detail the implementation of the city's industrial policy and the development strategy for Saint Petersburg, as it relates to creating conditions for attracting investors.
Tamara Rondaleva drew attention to the performance indicators of residents.
We are recording an actual decrease in the number of jobs created at resident companies' facilities, which is due to the increasing level of robotics and the introduction of automation into production processes. We also predict that this trend will intensify given the implementation of AI in all work processes.
- noted Tamara Rondaleva.
The parties also discussed projects for constructing ready-to-use sites for investment projects in St. Petersburg and Tashkent, sharing experiences and tools that can be used to accelerate investment cycles and reduce budget costs.
The delegation toured the site and visited the production complex of VERTEX, wh ere they held brief talks with the company's CEO, Georgy Pobelyansky.
We thank Mr. Umurzakov for his interest in the SEZ project and economic cooperation with St. Petersburg.
