During his working visit, he inspected the construction progress of Innovation Center 2 and several industrial facilities—such as Baltfarma, Elesta, and Elektroapparat—that are currently in the final stages of construction.

Innovation Center 2, an industrial infrastructure facility within the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) spanning approximately 18,000 square meters, is scheduled to open early next year. It will house resident companies and accommodate complex, high-tech projects.

The Baltfarma plant project entails establishing comprehensive infrastructure for the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) via chemical synthesis; this facility will enable the manufacture of a wide range of APIs, a significant portion of which are currently imported into Russia.

Kirill Polyakov noted during the inspection that a record number of production facilities are expected to launch within the SEZ by the end of 2026.

"The 'Saint Petersburg' Special Economic Zone is one of the best in the country, ranking second in the national assessment of SEZ investment attractiveness," said Alexander Sitov, Chairman of the St. Petersburg Committee for Industrial Policy, Innovation, and Trade. "It is vital for St. Petersburg that modern manufacturing facilities are being established within the SEZ; this not only creates new jobs and generates tax revenue for the city but also strengthens its position as a hub for high-tech industry."
